I got a request from @BrianAU2000 to put together a 1986 Topps Traded Bo for him. It was a card that I had wanted to do for a while, but frankly I was a little worried would be too hard for me.

On the other hand, I had just picked up some precision scissors and an X-Acto knife the night before, so maybe this was my chance to put them to the test. The most difficult part would be the lettering in the team name particularly the three letters I would have to cut holes into. This is something that would be impossible with ordinary scissors but might work with the X-Acto. I won’t pretend my cuts were perfect, and really they never are, but I was very happy with the final product.

In case you’re wondering where the letters for “BO KNOWS” came from, it turns out you can find all of them in Bo Jackson’s name except for the W. For that I used a 1986 Topps Wade Boggs card.

Thank you to Brian who happens to be one of the biggest supporters of Heavy J Studios and is the top ranked collector on our registry. His $50 donation to the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum earned him a museum membership, museum pin, museum T-shirt, this Bo Jackson card, and a second HJS card of Bo! (Random aside: Are Joe Jackson and Bo Jackson the two best players whose names rhyme?)
